At Dodger's Paws, our goal is to help people on their journey to having well-behaved and enjoyable dog family members. We think everyone should experience the connection that positive dog training brings, and how it results in living with a wonderful and cherished dog. Martha is originally from Long Island and moved to the Bay Area over 20 years ago.

She has always had a love of dogs but childhood allergies prevented her from having one of her own. When she got her first dog Ruby at the age of 23 her whole world changed. Martha now has 4 dogs (Jasper 11, Lovey 7, Denali 4 & Cheyenne 1.5). Martha has had customer service related jobs since she was 16, from managing a toy store to office manager at her wife's insurance agency, she has always loved helping people.

A deeper appreciation for dog training came when Martha met Christine Salazar, the founder of Dodger's Paws. Christine saw her love for dogs and encouraged her to shadow her and learn as much as she could. Since then Martha has attended countless hours of seminars by some of the best dog trainers (Suzanne Clothier, Hannah Branigan, Amy Cook, and many more) and attended and completed the Karen Pryor Clicker Academy and is an Accredited Dog Trainer through the IAABC.
Services
The first 16 weeks of a puppies life can be the most critical time for development of important lifelong skills.
In our Puppy Pre K, your puppy will be with a skilled professional trainer who will help them learn manners (no jumping, no biting etc), how to appropriately play with other puppies, expose them to novel items to help build their confidence and problem solving skills as well as teach them how to settle in their crate.
We will also reinforce behaviors learned in class such as Touch, Sit, Down & Leave it.
Are you interested in competing with your dog?
With the Fenzi TEAM titling program, you can earn titles by video while working on your dog's foundation skills.
It's a great way to find those little holes in your training - and fix them before you ever enter a ring.
The skills covered are especially applicable to Rally, Obedience, and Freestyle, but there is something for you if you and your dog do Nose Work, Parkour, Agility, or even just tricks!
All sport dogs need to learn how to work in the face of distractions or when you don't have any food on you - two skills covered in this program, and useful for all dogs in real-world situations.
Amazing specialty classes for topics like Tricks, Canine Good Citizen preparation, and more!.
The Canine Good Citizen class will allow you to practice the 10 test items you and your dog need to pass to get your dog's AKC CGC certificate, including meeting a friendly person, accepting grooming and petting, walking nicely on a loose leash alone and through a crowd.
They will also demonstrate a sit, down, stay and come, among other items.
For the complete list, please visit the AKC's website.
This class will not include the test, but it will be offered by another CGC evaluator at a determined date after your class.
