Are you looking to get your new puppy or adopted dog off to a great start? Don't wait for behavior problems! Instead of guessing, begin your relationship knowing what to do and how to handle your new friend. I can help! Specializing in Residence Training or Board and Train - also offering Private In-Home or Studio Lessons here in Norton, MA! This is a complete approach to dog training, raising, socializing and domesticating your lifelong companion.

Teaching a dog basic obedience skills is the easy part and the basis of communication with your dog. But, there are a combination of other elements, used together, that help your dog understand you and the boundaries you set. If your dog doesn't pay attention, something is missing. It will be difficult to control your dog in different places, and around other people and dogs.

Giving people a good understanding of canine behavior and using it to your advantage makes it fun. At the end of the dog training, you and your dog will enjoy a mutual respect and relationship.

I then took him to another trainer for private lessons.
That trainer's style of training was effective, and he taught me some valuable techniques, but I wanted a much better understanding of canine behavior.
I knew that better understanding would equal better training, and I know I could add something more!
So, I enrolled in a dog training school.
My husband and I drove for 16 hours to deliver me to six weeks of doggie boot camp.
The method I learned gave me a great foundation in "why" dogs do what they do.
Since every dog is unique, and each owner has certain goals for training, my programs and pricing are client specific.
First, I'd like to meet you for an evaluation.
We will have a conversation about your dog.
This gives you an opportunity to see my training technique, before you sign up for lessons, so that we can ensure that I am the right fit for you and your dog.
There are two options for this evaluation.
The first is an Evaluation, which takes place at your home.
The evaluation takes approximately one hour, and the fee is $75, $100, $125 (depending on location) or studio $60.
Some situations can be resolved in one or two lessons depending on the relationship you have with your dog.
This training format requires that some level of communication has already been established.
Your dog should have a good idea of basic obedience positions.
The session generally lasts more than an hour, and you are welcome to reach out to me (within 1 to 2 weeks, by phone or email) with any follow-up questions you might have.
The cost is $125 in your home (depending on location) or $75 in studio.
Send my dog away to train?
Are you kidding me?
I would miss him too much.
Ok, I can't help you with that.
But if you are really serious about changing your dog's behavior, you should consider this.
Residence Training (board and train) is the super consistent handling of your dog.
Day to day structure and leadership is put in place along with positive, motivational obedience and how it relates to everyday life.
Dogs learn to pay attention, starting with playing productive games that you can use at home.
I don't have to teach you how to love them, I have to teach you how to train and set some limits.
You and your puppy need to address many behaviors, like house-training, stop play-biting, walking on leash, how to socialize, what to chew, crate training, and so much more.
All of these things can be addressed immediately upon bringing the new guy into your home.
In fact, preventing behavior problems by teaching puppies what to do, instead of what not to do, is much more effective than waiting for a problem.
