We are a full service salon only. This means we do not offer a la carte services. Choosing us you can be rest assured your dogs are in good hands. We cater to the elite dog owners in the Fox Valley area. Owners who share the belief that a regular 8 week or less grooming session is essential to caring for their pet. We will help you come up with a haircut that will work with your budget and set you and your pet up for success.

Through out the year we participate in continued education and attend an annual grooming seminar to advance and perfect our craft. Basic is NOT in our vocabulary. We never perform "just a bath" as your dog needs so much more than that! Full service bathing IS still considered a grooming and will receive everything listed on our website. No corners cut at this salon!
Services
The back area is for bathing, drying, and prepping.
Back here we bath all of the dogs with our top of the line products and with our bathing systems for the deepest clean possible.
Then we bring them to the drying area for a good old fashioned hand dried blow out.
This is how we achieve the best finish possible.
Followed by that is all of our pawdicures, deshedding, full brush and comb out, ear cleaning, all while using an array of products based on each dog's needs and coat type.
Then we bring them to the front for their finish work.
As soon as possible!
Puppies can be groomed as early as 8 weeks old.
Many responsible and ethical breeders start their grooming before they go to their forever homes to set them up for success!
The earlier you start your puppy the better they will be for the process through out their life.
Keeping on a schedule makes it part of their routine and lifestyle.
That makes it not scary and more enjoyable.
Puppy's first groom is usually an intro to grooming.
All haircut breed clients of Dominique's Dog Grooming are required to maintain an every 8 week or less appointment to prevent this.
Why?
Well, to put it simply that is what is best for your dog.
Often times dog owners are not properly brushing, combing, bathing, and drying their pets at home.
When these things are NOT done routinely, dogs become uncomfortable.
Nails overgrown, hair in the eyes, hair pelted and pulling on the skin, stinky, the list goes on.
Regular hygiene regimens are part of owning a haircut breed.
Shedding breeds have a different coat type than haircut breeds.
Their furry coats are there to protect them from the elements as well as regulate body temperature.
In the summer their coats cool them down and in the winter keep them warm.
Think like insulation in a house.
Their coat also protects them from the sun.
Regular bath, blow dry, and deshedding removed dead unwanted hair and allows dogs to regulate their body temps.
We remove the dead coat and leave them with the healthy good coat.
The hair growth cycle is composed of three different stages: Anagen (growth) phase, Catagen (involution) phase, and Telogen (resting) phase.
Shaving breeds like this can cause Alopecia.
Hair loss (alopecia) is a common disorder in dogs which causes the animal to have partial or complete hair loss.
It can affect a dog's skin, its endocrine system, its lymphatic system, and its immune systems.
Alopecia can affect dogs and cats of all ages, breed and gender, and is either gradual or acute.
It doesn't really matter if it is a longer blade or short.
Clippering these breeds removes the top coat which is the guard hair that does not shed and leaves you with the fuzzy undercoat.
