I took our daughter's dog to Midlothian VVC for a breathing problem that came up during our visit from IL.Their affiliated hospital in Richmond had treated him for pneumonia in the past. The care they provided (techs and vet) was top notch. Their office manager Carol was especially wonderful. Dr Mercurio and his team were amazing! They made us feel like we were apart of their family and took great care of our dobi Cam thru her recovery.
Went here a few hours ago. The staff was amazing and so nice and comforting. The doctor was awesome. Unfortunately our dog was sick and had to be put down and the doctor was so compassionate.

To stop the scratching, the itching must be controlled.
And that requires identifying and treating the underlying problem.
Your primary veterinarian can usually treat your pet's skin problem, but some can become chronic and difficult to diagnose.
Then your veterinarian may decide to refer you to a board-certified veterinary dermatologist for specialized care.
