Services
Animal Adoption If you have not considered animal adoption thus far because you aren’t sure how to go about finding the right match in a companion, you’ll be happy to know that we have a system that allows us to help. Each dog is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and dewormed.
Dogs for Adoption If you have ever gone to a traditional county animal shelter and walked down a hallway peering into kennels at the dogs for adoption, it probably broke your heart to see the lonely and scared faces. Here at Godbey Creek Canine Rescue, we set out to be a different type of shelter – a place you can see rescue dogs happy, content, and ready to love a new family.
Animal Rescue Shelter We knew that it would be rewarding to end unnecessary euthanasia by transforming rescue animals so they can bring happiness to a loving family. All too often, animals are at risk of euthanasia due to behavioral conditions that can be overcome in the right environment. We set out to be that environment, and then match the right pet with the right owner.
Adoption Fees Adoption fees help provide medical care, food and shelter to the animals in our care. When you adopt from Godbey Creek Canine Rescue, oftentimes you are receiving more than $450 of services in exchange for your pets adoption fee.
Boarding Godbey Creek Canine Rescue and our boarding facility is licensed by the NC Department of Agriculture and maintains an excellent standard of care for your pets. Book your dog’s stay today by calling us for more information! All dogs must be current on rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations two weeks prior to boarding
Donate Did you know that at Godbey Creek Canine Rescue, we offer many opportunities to donate? You can volunteer your time, donate supplies for the pets, or offer to foster or sponsor a pet, and of course, we accept monetary donations for our rescued dogs.

When they pulled my dog, Bear, from the shelter he was high heart worm positive and had been badly abused by a previous owner. They poured a lot of money and even more love into him to save him. When I came to inquire about him, they let me take him home for a trial basis to make sure that he did okay with the cat. During that time Mariam was great to answer all of my questions.

I am so grateful for all they did to make it possible for me to have this great companion. *Adding a boarding review: Even though there are options closer to me, I bring Bear to Godbey Creek for boarding now. He loves sitting in the pasture in the sun! The last time I dropped him off they took him straight from my car to the pasture. He didn't give me a second look as he walked away, his tail wagging. I have never been so happy to be ignored! It's clear that he's well cared for here.

Mariam with Godbey Creek Canine Rescue did a great job to help me rehome my 8-month-old Doberman (Dobi). I have to rehome Dobi since I moved unexpectedly. After I made the call, Mariam responded quickly and scheduled the second day for meeting Dobi and received Dobi after the meeting. Mariam impressed me with her professionalism, kindness, and commitment to take care of animals with need.

The Godbey creek canine rescue center is very clean, lovely, and well-organized. After 7-day rehoming process with new owner, Mariam updated me with Dobi in new environments. She is so nice to keep me posted. I hope that more people can know Godbey Creek Canine Rescue Center.

Rescued our sweet Heeler, Jessie from Gotbey Creek and had a great experience! What an amazing facility! Driving in, it looked like a dog's version of Heaven! The staff were very nice and all the dogs were very happy and well cared for. I loved the fact that they actually checked our references and did a meet and greet before adopting. Will definitely be adopting from Gotbey Creek Canine Rescue in the future! My only regret is that they are too far away to use for overnight doggie care when we are on vacation.

This place is spectacular! They are extremely loving and compassionate toward all of their animals that they care for. I have never encounter such a rescue that will go above and beyond to properly train their dogs prior to being adopting out. In addition, run an extensive background screening to make sure that the right owner, environment, and work life/career aligns best for the dog(s).

The dogs at the rescue have acres of land to get plenty of exercise, spacious room to stay in on their downtime, and have a consistent eating/training schedule. If you're looking to bring home a new loving member of the family, rest assure that this place will take care of you and your new fur baby! I highly recommend you check them out!

Godbey Creek Canine Rescue is an advocate for animals. They take the time to get to know the animal's personality, temperament, and behavior and do not adopt out until the right fit is found. Mariam's love and devotion to the cause is phenomenal! The rescue finds the absolute correct forever home!

Mariam is quick to respond and extremely flexible for scheduling times to meet. She cares so much about the animals. She and her staff take the time to learn about the animal's personality and ensure they find the best home for that particular animal. The facilities are pristine, we were so impressed the first time we came to the rescue. If I were a dog without a home, this is where I would want to be!

They have play pastures and multiple trails for walks. They even ensure that the animal's are appropriately trained so they have the best chance and finding their forever homes. We are so thankful that there are people like Mariam who care so deeply for animals in need.

What a wonderful place with wonderful people! We adopted our third dog from here a couple months ago. When she came to us, she was beautifully trained to go to her crate, walk on a leash like a dream, and generally behave like a polite canine. We did have some issues with housetraining, but that's to be expected from a dog making a big change like this, particularly when one of our other dogs was reinforcing the problem due to separation anxiety.

I was quite pleased with the process of adoption: they seem determined to find the right fit for the dog and the family, which I appreciate. Even if it had turned out that we were NOT the right fit, I felt confident this dog would've found the perfect home for her. Still, I'm very glad she's ours! They're a relatively new rescue, and I've been trying to help get the word out about how wonderful they are.
