I had to admit that I'm finally at that stage of life where I can't just rely on friends to provide cat care. So we reached out to the Comforted Kitty for a long weekend trip. They were responsive that same day, and while the first time intake can be a bit of a beast, it is really extensive and they cover just about anything that could come up while you're away, so it's actually really worth the time and gives you that peace of mind while you're away.
We had our meet and greet with Marlene, and while both of our cats are skittish of new people, we were able to give a home tour, and she asked relevant questions related to what I had included on our intake. She definitely made me feel comfortable handing over the keys to our home. While we were gone I also had said I'd be fully available for questions, but I was on vacation. so of course that wasn't the case! Marlene communicated not only the question she had, but when she didn't hear back from me, she was decisive and let me know her plan of action.
I was so appreciative of that, and to tell the truth she did exactly what I would have told her to do anyway. I think that's the benefit of a service that's catered to cat people, by cat people. So big thanks to them! We booked about a month out, so cannot speak to getting last minute care, but for a planned trip they were very solid.

Jim was a friendly and reliable cat sitter who fed our two cats and scooped out their litter everyday. Also brought in mail. Impressively he managed to get both cats out of hiding after a few days. I appreciated the daily text updates including photos that made us feel comfortable with having Jim in the house. The Comforted Kitty website and app were both easy to use and the owner Dan was so helpful with only a weeks notice. Also very competitive pricing! Thank you Jim and Dan. We are new to the area, needed a cat sitter over a weekend, and had a great experience with Comforted Kitty. The process was easy to get started and Dan, the owner, was very responsive. We then set up an intro meeting with our sitter, Jim, to meet our cat and give him the keys. Jim was very patient with the introduction to our kitty, Bill, and let him emerge from hiding introduce himself when he was ready.
While we were gone, for each time Jim visited, he provided a written update on their interaction, if Bill ate his meal, and pictures of our furry guy. It left us comforted knowing our cat was being fed and cared for in our absence. The Comforted Kitty is a great service and we will use them again.

I found this service through the Berkeley Parents Network site and I was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism. Our cat was well taken care of by one of their sitters and the sitter was very patient and understanding of our cats needs and personality. I will be using the Comforted Kitty in the future. The only suggestion is to maybe update the App "Time to Pet" to a more modern look similar to apps like "MeowTel". The software seems outdated but at the end of the day it honestly doesn't matter too much. Professional and caring!

Dan was prompt and thorough with his communications every step of the way to set up the sitting dates, and our sitter Amber was even better! We trusted her care and professionalism completely. We really appreciate that they only work with felines, and they have flexible scheduling options to suit your specific needs.

My pet sitter of 20 years wasn't available to take care of little Coco for the first time - panic! Looking over this service, I liked what I saw, appreciated the care that goes into registering oneself and pet on their site, and rates seemed reasonable although more expensive than my usual person. I was so nervous, I almost didn't go on my trip because I wasn't sure I could trust a stranger with my home and kitty-boo.
Enter Dan and Alex, I started to feel at ease right away as I went through the signup process, to ensure that every little detail was attended to in my request. Alex was great, beyond great, really, I got texts and photos every visit, that made it clear my tough little kitty-boo was making friends with Alex, and eating. And playing, and getting brushed. I've used the Comforted Kitty multiple times and have been impressed each and every time. The app is easy to use, they keep great notes about your pets so you don't have to update each time, the sitters are friendly and communicative, always send notes and pictures each time they come. I had Alex come over during this Easter weekend to watch my two kitties, Othello and Ruby. I am very pleased with the service and how well Alex took care of them. She communicated with me daily and I also received photos to know what they were doing. It's a great relief to know your cats are safe in their own home when you are away. We had a fantastic experience with the Comforted Kitty over the Christmas holidays. We have two high need, elderly cats and Anakaren was wonderful with them. She gave us excellent updates and pictures and went above and beyond when we had an ant infestation. She even put our trash on the curb. I cannot say enough good things about the care we received and the excellent communication our sitter provided. I absolutely recommend them and Anakaren!

The Comforted Kitty, as well as my kittys' sitter, Marlene, are both fantastic. Setting up with Dan went well and he's so friendly. I love using the company's app since so much information can be shared between me and Marlene about my cat. And finally, Marlene is amazing. She's so thorough and attentive. I'd give them more stars if I could. Jim followed our directions to the letter and even used some tricks of his own to ensure our senior kitty got enough to eat during the 30 min daily visit. He also ensured she ate slow enough to prevent vomiting. He would end each visit with some petting and cuddling. Our independent girl is not the cuddles type. This was our first cat sitting experience and we'd do it again! Thank you Jim!

This review is quite delayed -- I used their services back in late October thru early November 2022. I needed to go on a work trip and was afraid to leave my elderly kitty who has chronic kidney disease and needs regular fluid injections. Reem was able to do overnight visits AND give my kitty the injections with no problem at all. She even came over prior to my trip to do a trial run with the injections.
During my trip she regularly provided videos of her interacting with my kitty and that really eased my concerns. Plus, both she and Dan were always so responsive and accommodating with my requests, even when I had to reduce the length of my trip. They have a great app that you can use to communicate with them throughout and provide information on your pets. Reem left the apartment in excellent condition prior to my return.
I highly highly HIGHLY recommend The Comforted Kitty, even for those with senior kitties who need extra care. You can tell that they are true cat lovers! I'll use them again for sure when I have another trip.

I HIGHLY recommend utilizing Comforted Kitty. I am so thankful they exist. We have a rescue is beyond skittish with strangers and were nervous about how to ensure she was well taken care of when we are gone. We recently moved to a new area and had no one local to watch our kitty. I search the Google and found Comforted Kitty, the reviews are legit! After submitting my request, I was connected with Mary who would be our sitter. She swung by the house to meet our kitty Coconut, he came out right away to greet her which is a good sign! I love the app that accompanies the service, Mary sent me photos and updates of how much Coconut ate and how he was doing.
She even grabbed our mail and packages off the porch. Made us feel so much better leaving him for the first time in a new house. Honestly the perfect sitter service, I wasn't worried about our kitty and knew he was in good hands. Thank you, Mary!

I've usually left my cat at Cat Hotels nearby because it was so hard to trust an in-home sitter or even find one that was flexible enough to book when I needed it. I tried The Comforted Kitty for a week when I was out of town and couldn't be more happy. Deepy watched my cat and was very response, clear with her updates, and had a true desire to take care of my cat and make sure she was comfortable.
I've already scheduled with them again! When I get home from long trips in the past my Cat would act anxious but this time she was all business as usual! I couldn't be more happy and will be scheduling with the Comforted Kitty anytime i'm out of town.

Amazing cat sitting company! We have hired Comforted Kitty twice to watch our cats when we were out of town. Before our first visit Comforted Kitty scheduled a "Meet & Greet" for our sitter to come to our home, with us there, to meet our kitties and get used to our home before the scheduled, actual visit. Comforted Kitty also has an extremely extensive information sheet for you to fill out regarding your pets and their needs.
We really appreciated both the Meet & Greet and the detailed sheets - it provided us with more peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy your vacations more knowing our pets were in good, knowledgable hands. Jim has been our sitter for both of our trips. Both times Jim has been extremely communicative, thorough and provided us with a detailed breakdown after each visit (including lots of pictures!). Jim is also very prompt. We never have had to worry about the kitties being taken care of well when left with Jim!

I have been using the Comforted Kitty for the past 2 years and I am so grateful for their services. I have worked with 2 different sitters and both truly know their stuff! They take care of the basics (food, water, litter) and give your kitties the attention they need! It is such a relief to go on a trip and know that my cats are getting the exercise and pets they need while I'm away.
I love that my sitters would send me daily emails with photos of my babies :) It's a nice bonus since I'm usually missing them. My last sitter did morning visits for 5 days straight while we were away. When I came home it was like we never left. The cats were calm and content :D I 100% recommend the Comforted Kitty if you need some caring humans to look after your critters!

I found them years ago looking for a bunny sitter for my pet rabbit and now I have a very reliable sitter through them who my two bunnies absolutely adore, and she has been a godsend in a very busy travel year for me this year. Jim and the prior sitter we had were both fantastic. We've been using The Comforted Kitty for our vacations and weekend trips for a bit over a year now. They're quick to respond to our scheduling requests and very communicative. Jim knew how to handle both our sociable pumpkin and our incredibly shy Mochi. We got daily updates with pictures after each visit to know that they were doing well. Cara is a great cat sitter! She services the Alameda area. I felt really comfortable leaving my kitties in her care when I was out of town. She sent detailed daily updates with lots of photos. My cats seemed to get along well with her and came out to greet and interact with her. Would definitely book her again.

My sitter Emily did a great job! She took care of my cat while I was out of town for 2 weeks, the longest I've been away from home since adopting her. The detailed daily updates and pictures made me feel better that my cat was in good hands. We needed to go out of town last minute, so I sent in a few questions to Dan, who was able to quickly connect me with an available sitter for the weekend. I had the pleasure of meeting with Deepy, our assigned cat sitter. Before we went out of town, we got to meet Deepy for a quick 15 minute meeting for her to get to know our cats and know where all of our supplies and needed items were going to be while we were away.
When other people said that they felt completely at ease with this business taking good care of their cats while they were away, I couldn't agree more. I booked with The Comforted Kitty while I was out of town for a week. My sweet kitty is fairly new to our household and has some medication needs as well as needing a problem eye cleaned with a wipe regularly. Jim was absolutely fantastic at gaining his trust, being gentle with him, giving meds and treats, and sending updates. I have a cat cam and after a few days, I could see that Mr Swiss started to plaintively meow when Jim left because he loved him and wanted his company! Gabriel from the Comforted Kitty was the savior of my vacation sanity! I contacted The Comforted Kitty based on great reviews, and Dan put me in touch with Gabriel right away. Communications was timely, precise, and easy. Payment process was as convenient as can be. I got updates on my 2 crazy kitties every time Gabriel visited them. I was worried about my older kitty being less than reasonably friendly, but Gabriel came to "an understanding" with him so quickly that I was utterly amazed!

While the paperwork was more extensive than I expected, I appreciated that all these details would be there in case of emergency needs/changes, and for the future (it also was a message to me that they are organized/thoughtful.a good assurance when bringing someone into your home). Reem sent us some photos and videos with updates.

We were going out of town and didn't want to keep bothering our neighbors to check on our cat, so we decided to find our first official cat sitter. We found the Comforted Kitty on Yelp and were not disappointed. Gabriel was super communicative and seemed to genuinely care about our cat. The app is really easy to use and very comprehensive. It's always hard to get used to having a relative stranger come into your home, but having our info like our alarm code in a secure place like the app was reassuring.
I also appreciated that they are insured in case something goes wrong. Plus, the initial 15 minute consultation with Gabriel put us at ease. He sent very thoughtful daily updates and photos (when our shy girl wasn't hiding!). I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I love using the Comforted Kitty for cat sitting! It's a really professional operation, with an online booking and payment system and diligent communication. They ask for extensive information about your pet's health and preferences, and who to contact in an emergency, which I appreciate. I contacted The Comforted Kitty with less than a week notice when I had to go out of town for a family emergency. They were fantastic and responsive and connected me with a sitter within 48 hours. I'm a bit of a nervous over-protective cat parent, and my sitter Emily set me totally at ease and was really fantastic. She took perfect care of my senior kitty (who requires several medications), sent pictures every visit, and even taught me some tricks to make sure my cat had a little extra enrichment and stimulation while alone. I'd recommend these folks without any reservations. Their app/website is also very well setup and makes communicating with your sitter and payment very easy and convenient.

I can't say enough good things about our cat sitter Ronnie from The Comforted Kitty! She took excellent care of our cat and I loved getting daily updates and pictures from her. She really went above and beyond and offered to bring in our mail, put out our garbage cans for pick up, and really helped us out by watering both our indoor and outdoor plants. It was such a relief knowing our cat was in good hands, and that there was someone keeping an eye on things while we were away. I will definitely use their services again!

I had a great experience with The Comforted Kitty. I previously left my kitty with family during trips, however, that option is no longer available. I needed a reliable sitter to use going forward. TCK has great reviews, is local, and specializes in cats, so I decided to give them a shot. The whole process was smooth. Great communication from the very beginning.
You know exactly what to expect and they walk you through the whole process step-by-step. There is a website and app where you fill out info about your cat, your home, and all applicable instructions so that the sitter has them handy while you are away. You have a meet-and-greet with the sitter and walk them through the process, they meet your cat, keys are exchanged.
By the time you leave, they know exactly what to do. All communication with the sitter happens through the site. Our sitter was Emily. She was great - polite, professional, and reliable. My kitty (Pacha) is very skittish and hid during meet-and-greet and through most of Emily's visits. That was to be expected. I still got detailed emails and photos from each visit.
Towards the end of the week, Pacha started coming out of her hiding spot and interacting with Emily. By the end of my trip, Pacha let Emily pet her belly. I move frequently and over past few years Comforted Kitty found the best catsitter for my 11 years old kitty, Lila. Last time Lila's sitter was Angie - my cat trusted her from the first visit - Angie is very gentle and understand cat's language.

We were so lucky to discover The Comforted Kitty and our cat sitter Jim shortly after moving to the East Bay! We've utilized Jim's services for several trips over the last two years and every time he puts our minds at ease regarding our cat's wellbeing. Our cat, Charlie, is extremely shy of new humans and struggles to feel comfortable around strangers, so on the first few visits Jim took it slow to get to know Charlie and go at his pace. Jim's gentle approach quickly won over Charlie and they now have their own established routine and relationship. Jim's updates from his visits are always a pleasure and I've never had to worry about Charlie's well-being when he is in Jim's care. Additionally, Jim has graciously helped with trash day and garden watering which was immensely helpful for our household.

I can't say enough about Susannah! She watched our two boys on a recent 10-day trip for my husband and I - it was our longest time away from home since COVID, and we weren't sure how they'd do. Susannah bonded with them right away - even our stand-offish guy warmed up to her quickly. The Comforted Kitty is such a great service dedicated to just cats! This was our first time using a pet sitting service for our grumpy old lady cat, Missy. She doesn't like to interact with new people, especially now with a new diabetes diagnosis. So we were nervous going away but desperately needed someone to care for her and provide twice daily injections. Amanda was simply amazing and professional.
She was very confident approaching Missy and I was amazed at her success in giving injections to a grumpy cat. She gave daily updates with pictures via the app which we looked forward to everyday. We can't rave about this company and Amanda enough! 10/10 would recommend. We are using them again for a long upcoming trip!

The Comforted Kitty was better than I could have imagined! Reem, our cat sitter, did an amazing job. Finding a sitter for Mudd, my 23 year old cat, when I need to travel can be challenging because she needs medication twice a day. and she isn't super friendly about it. During the introduction meeting, I pointed out all the places Mudd might hide, and demonstrated how to give the medicine (the secret is distracting Mudd with treats), and Reem did the rest!
Communication was better than I could have expected, I received videos during each visit, text updates, etc. Reem even watered my basil plant, cleaned the cat box, and took out the trash. I'll definitely be using this service again in the future!

Highly recommend! Such peace of mind working with this company for pet sitting. Emily watched our kitties for 2 weeks as we were traveling in Europe. She sent updates every day and had no issues! Most of all she was able to give our senior kitty her daily meds, which we were most concerned about. Their app is easy to use for payment and communication. I always use comforted kitty. My cat has some medical problems that require daily medicine and multiple types of food. In addition to this she is extremely shy and sometimes aggressive. Jim has taken care of her multiple times and is very good with her. She likes him and even lets him pet her. Whenever I come home she appears to be well cared for. My senior cat Guggenheim has enjoyed lots of attention during the pandemic and I was nervous about leaving him alone when I was ready to travel again. Luckily, I have had a great experience with The Comforted Kitty! Jim has been my sitter for two trips now, and his care and attention helped allay my fears. Jim sent detailed updates and videos after each visit to let me know that Guggenheim had everything he needed, and even made sure to do little things like chop Guggenheim's pills up into smaller pieces so they were easier to eat with dinner. Jim also clearly enjoyed spending time with Guggenheim, which I always appreciate as a cat parent. I am planning some trips for the summer and am looking forward to working with Jim again.

We've been working with The Comforted Kitty for over a year now and have always had a good experience. We've always had the same cat sitter (Jim), which is nice since it helps with feeling secure that our cat and house is in good hands. Jim is reliable, communicative, and our kitty is always happy when we get home. It's also a nice service since you can book on the app, and they will even go above and beyond and help with things like watering plants and pulling in trash bins.
