Howl A Day Inn kennel is located just twenty minutes from downtown Wasilla. We are a family run boarding and training kennel where your dogs comfort and safety is our number one concern. We have been boarding and training dogs for over twenty years and are proud of our reputation for exemplary dog care that is known throughout the area.

At Howl A Day Inn, your dog will be staying in one of our clean, secure, and spacious kennels.
All of our kennels are heated with a modern indoor/outdoor design.
Each of our guests will be provided with a Kuranda dog bed for their comfort.
During your dogs stay at Howl A Day Inn, they can romp and play in one of our large, grassy yards or for a small additional fee, they can take a nature walk through the grounds of our beautifully wooded 35 acre facility.

Training Philosophy: Trisha Kolegar's career with dogs began when she was just five years old and was entered in her first dog mushing event.
She has been caring for and training dogs ever since.
Her philosophy for dog training and behavior modification is a no nonsense, common sense approach with a foundation based on 35 years of experience and a clear understanding of the way dogs think and learn.
Hers is a proven training program with a balance of motivation and correction with the fluidity to move one way or the other depending on the training moment or point in time.
She has been caring for and training dogs ever since.

What if I arrive outside the posted, normal business hours for check-in or check-out?
Inadequate "down time" can cause a variety of problems for our guests, including: nervousness, destructive behavior, poor appetite, diarrhea, etc.
Our rest periods are therefore a crucial part of maintaining a stress free atmosphere.
Since we are an owner operated 7 day a week, operation, it allows us time for relaxation as well!
All pick-ups, drop offs and kennel tours are by appointment only.
What if my dog requires medication?
Inadequate "down time" can cause a variety of problems for our guests, including: nervousness, destructive behavior, poor appetite, diarrhea, etc.
Our rest periods are therefore a crucial part of maintaining a stress free atmosphere.
Since we are an owner operated 7 day a week, operation, it allows us time for relaxation as well!
