The majority of dog trainers use outdated methods relying on intimidation, force and conditional rewards. Scientific research has now proved that the traditional dog training, obedience based, methods are less effective than methods involving consistent fair guidance, meeting all the dog's needs and the provision of choice. Dogs' cognition, emotions and ability to learn is not dissimilar to that of a 3yr old child.

Science has shown us that if we teach dogs in the same way as we teach children the dogs make faster and more successful progress than when we use the traditional methods involving force, bribery and coercion. This, in turn, leads to dogs being confident, educated and able to control their behavior by themselves rather than being trained to obey commands.

My approach is based on teaching pet parents how to build a solid bond with their dog based on trust - forging a deep relationship with these wonderful animals. Following this protocol results in dogs who are happier, more confident and safer to be around.

I left my native England for Dallas, Texas, in 1999 and took my horse with me!
I have been an animal lover my whole life - being with dogs and riding horses since childhood.
I started my dog trainer career over 15 years ago working in doggy daycare under the mentorship of a Certified Professional Dog Trainer.
For over 15 years now, happy clients, veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters, dog walkers, rescue groups, other trainers, pet photographers, and even our local feline behaviorist, have been referring clients to me.
My Philosophy is remarkably simple!
I apply force-free (or aversive-free) methods in all dog training cases.
This means that I do not, under any circumstances, employ or recommend pain, fear, intimidation or startle techniques to influence dogs' behavior.
Unlike many other dog trainers, I have no use for painful collars, shake cans or alpha rolls.
I simply do not have the stomach to knowingly instill pain or fear in a dog, but equally importantly, I don't need to.
Not only that, but using intimidation or fear has been shown to cause long-term trauma in dogs.
Experience has taught me that the best way to start is for us to have a free, no obligation, chat on the phone.
At this point you will have the opportunity to tell me about your dog, explain what help you're looking for and ask any questions you might have.
At the same time, I can obtain background information and explain my methods, pricing and scheduling.
Please note: If I do not cover your area please contact me anyway so I can refer you to another APPROPRIATELY QUALIFIED Force Free Trainer!
