Smokey Oaks K9 is located in historic York County, SC. We are a small training company dedicated to building better trust, engagement, and control between you and your dog. Our goal is to teach your dog how to learn and teach YOU how to train! All of our training packages are custom tailored to help you and your dog meet all of your training goals.

My pup Rosie is dog reactive, and they have already helped so much. After the first session I saw huge improvement. They have also helped with her manners, commands, and overall behavior.

After many years of working under someone else, my move to the Carolinas in 2018 inspired me to start my own business.
The business is run by myself, and my incredible husband Christian.
You may see him with me at private lessons, or sometimes in training videos, but he is a critical part of the behind the scenes happenings here at Smokey Oaks.
He helps me with whatever I need from cleaning crates, training, walking dogs, or helping with grumpy dogs, I couldn't do it without him.

I was just in awe at the amazing things Shadow could do, and above all else he saved my dad's life more than once!

We do this by creating engagement between you and your dog so that your dog looks to you for everything!
Our program is heavily reward based because dogs don't learn through corrections.
I cannot punish a dog for something that he or she does not know.
For example, if you are asked to do a backflip and you have never done one before, punching you in the arm won't make you learn how to do one.

Our private lessons all build on one another so it's important that you do your homework!
Private lessons can either be done in your home, or at our location in York, SC.
