We offer positive reinforcement based dog training services including group puppy and obedience classes as well as private training in your home in the North and Northwest Chicago suburbs. We can help you resolve general obedience problems, behavioral problems, and aggressive behavior. We also offer agility classes in Chicago Ridge.

Our mission is to improve the relationship between dog and owner by providing a positive means of communication and understanding that allows both the dog and the owner to enjoy the time spent together.I would rather try to persuade a man to go along, because once I have persuaded him, he will stick. If I scare him, he will stay just as long as he is scared, and then he is gone.
Services
Creative Paws, Inc. was founded in 2001 by Ashlee Trotter, BS, CPDT-KA, and provides group classes and private lessons for dog obedience training, agility training and behavior problems.
Ashlee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Michigan State University.
Prior to pursuing her dog training interests she honed her skills of positive reinforcement training while working with zoo animals at facilities in the Midwest.
She has been recognized for several years as a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator by the American Kennel Club, as well as a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) by the Certification Council for Pet Dog Trainers, an affiliate organization of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the first organization to offer a national standard for trainer certification.
This program is convenient and personal.
Our trainer will come to your home and conduct one-hour private training sessions with you and your dog.
Private lessons are great for the busy owner with a limited schedule as lessons can be conducted in the evenings or on weekends, and allow for tailored scheduling.
Also, private lessons allow for full customization of the training program, based on the temperament of the dog and the goals of the owner.
Private lessons may also benefit the dog that is easily distracted or that may have difficulty appropriately interacting with other dogs.
Molly joined our pack in January of 2018 at 13.5 yrs of age, after her owner passed away and the extended family asked National German Wirehaired Pointer Rescue to take her.
She started as our foster dog and it was quickly clear that she was in her new forever home.
She turned 17 on 6/5/2021.
We consider each day with her a gift.
Why recreate the wheel when someone has already designed a great one?
Including articles, blogs and podcasts by the country's top dog trainers.
Also available in the free downloads section are "Before You Get Your Puppy" and "After You Get Your Puppy" by Dr. Ian Dunbar!
1. Choose a Kong appropriately sized for your dog - big enough that they can't fit it all in their mouth/swallow it or easily chew it to bits and small enough that their lower jaw can't fit into the big hole at the base of the Kong.
