Services
The way we treat our companion animals has changed drastically in the past thirty years.
A Precious Pet Resort was built on the philosophy of those changing attitudes.
We feel that the unconditional love your pet gives you everyday should be returned when you have to go away.
Based on dog psychology we built our resort from the ground up to provide what we feel is the best, stress-free care possible.
Dogs walking by a kennel can make eye contact with dogs inside this can be stressful for a nervous dog or cause injury from fence fighting.

Depending on our grooming schedule, grooming appointments, baths and nail trims may be scheduled during your pet's stay.
We reserve the right to refuse to keep what we deem too many dogs in the family suite at one time based on size and temperment.
Overcrowding can cause serious fights, even with 'family' members.
We have several staff members on board who are seasoned small animal and exotic bird handlers, owners and groomers.
We even house a few permanent resident exotics, and we occsionally have adoptable birds available.

Groom dogs get the opportunity to play with other dogs before we put them on the table, helping to burn off excess energy and making their grooming session less stressful.
The fact that we are not rushed also means that your pet can take breaks during the grooming session.
It is suggested that dogs get their nails trimmed every four to six weeks.
Nails that grow too long can not only cause discomfort while walking.
The best way to keep nails down in between trims is by walking your dog over hard surfaces like concrete or pavement.

Every little bit counts and if we all contributed a little, the difference would be a lot!
You might not be suprised to hear that caring for all of the animals produces a LOT of laundry!
Towels, bedding, bed covers and beds wind up in our 'dirty pile' by the washer every day.
We use a high efficiency washer and we line-dry year round!
Washdown kennels clean their kennel area by hosing it down grooves in the cement and down drains.

You need updated proof of Rabies, Bordatella, and DHLPP.
We can not take dog tags as proof of rabies, as tags can be removed, changed from dog to dog or stolen.
We encourage you to bring anything you feel would make your dog more comfortable.
Bedding from home brings familiarity, and 'home' smells, some dogs may chew their beds, even if they have never done so before.
Chewing is an anxiety releasing behavior so chew toys, non-rawhide treats, and treat dispensing toys like kongs are all suggested.
