A native Seattleite, Hillary's love of animals began as a child and led to her first job at the Woodland Park Zoo at the age of 16. After working in the non-profit and political world, Hillary started teaching puppy and dog training classes in 2014, where she realized her passion for working with clients and helping them build their relationship with their dog.

Hillary is a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer) and uses positive reinforcement (scientifically-based) methods of training. She obtained a BA from the University of California at Berkeley and a MA in International Affairs and Economics from Johns Hopkins University. She shares her home with her three dogs: Georgia, (ancient hound), Bagheera (Border Collie mix) and Oski (Super Mutt).

Since 2015, Nicole has been working with dogs: At a dog daycare, assisting in training classes, running their own dog-sitting business, and volunteering at local shelters. Now they've joined Kokoro Dog to focus on Puppy Camp and small group classes.
Services
First you need to sign our waiver and fill out a short application so we know a little bit more.
We have two fully-fenced private dog play areas, and you get to choose which works best for you!
Our Agility Ring is the bark area next to the barn.
We have just upgraded our agility equipment to Max200 contact equipment.
The Megapasture and Bunny Hill are reserved as a combo, while the Agility Ring is reserved separately.
Either can be reserved in blocks of 30 minutes.
If you happen to have a reactive dog or wish to work your dog without other distractions, you may reserve the entire set of fenced areas.
Puppy camp is intended for puppies between 8 and 20 weeks.
For puppies over 20 weeks, we recommend a training class where you can work with your puppy.
Puppies will not be playing the entire time!
In addition to supervised, controlled play and brief work on core training concepts, we also teach the puppies how to relax and sleep in exciting situations.
For all swim appointments, please bring your dog, a towel, and plenty of small, soft treats.
We have spare treats and towels as needed.
Park on the gravel or the paved area in front of the training garage on the left of the property.
When you arrive, please park in the shaded yellow areas in front of the barn, training garage, pool, or at the top of the drive.
You can also park on either side of the street.
Please do not park in any of the shaded red areas (training garage gate, private driveway, or alongside the house).
This is to keep certain entries/exits open.
Past the training garage is the pool.
Since the photo above was taken, we have added a 4 foot wooden fence around the pool area.
Please only approach the pool if you have an appointment!
Scentwork has become increasingly popular because every dog has a nose!
Whether you are interested in just enriching your dogs daily life, participating in Nosework trials, hunting truffles, or having your dog finds your phone or keys this introductory workshop is for you.
Dogs of any age may participate.
If your dog is reactive to dogs or people please let us know prior to signing up so that we can assess if this setting is right for your dog or if a private lesson might be a better fit.
Short three week series for dogs brand new to Nosework or just beginning their first target odor.
In this five week class we focus on focus-if you have your adolescent dog's attention the world the world is your oyster.
We will focus on how to communicate with your dog so that she WANTS to work with you.
We will address many of the common issues that occur during adolescence including "selective hearing", recall, leash walking, attention barking, jumping and a solid stay.
All of these things have one thing in common-they require your dog to be focused on YOU and manage their energy.
This is a six-week class tackling adolescent dogs.
