Dog Daycare is a concept in canine care designed and made popular by owners who love their dogs, but who happen to work long hours. It offers busy dog owners the option of giving their dogs a day of play rather than boredom and frustration alone at home. For just a few dollars more than what you are paying to have your dog walked for a half an hour, you can bring him/her to The Big Backyard in Denver Metro where all of our doggy guests spend an entire day playing in groups of canine and human friends.
Just view some of our doggy daycare clients in action! All animal care providers know that a dog's disposition can be profoundly influenced by the amount of exercise and attention he or she receives. In fact, some behaviorists believe that 90% of all destructive behaviors are caused by boredom, frustration or isolation. Dogs are pack animals and crave the companionship and stimulation of other dogs and humans.
Doggy Daycare provides that companionship and loads of exercise in a safe, supervised and constructive environment.

Services
Every dog is screened for temperament through our interview process before being admitted to doggy daycare.
We welcome healthy, friendly dogs that are not possessive of territory or toys.
We also require that your dog be neutered or spayed after 6 months of age and that we have proof of vaccination for Distemper, Bordatella (kennel cough), and Rabies.
We are conveniently located off of I-25 and Evans, between downtown Denver and the Tech Center.
Our building also sits right next to Evans East Animal Hospital with whom we have a great working relationship.

Doggy Daycare is our primary service at The Big Backyard.
It works much like daycare for children.
Your dog is dropped off at our doggy daycare facility and can play and socialize in a supervised environment.
We offer 8,000 square feet of play space; 5,000 square feet inside which is climate controlled year round (heated in the winter and air-conditioned in the summer!), and 3,000 square feet outside which is always accessible to the dogs through doggy doors.
The inside area is divided into 3 playrooms and each playroom has a securely fenced outdoor area for outside play and potty breaks.

And what a fine effort that was, Gabby.
My name is Janice Larkin.
I've owned Weimaraners all of my life, and due to my work schedule and also, ahem, my own aging, I decided that the time had come to begin using day care 2-3 afternoons per week, to help my dog get the play time that she needs and deserves.
