We are Lincoln's only second-generation, family owned and operated dog boarding and training business. Wilderness Kennels is the only boarding facility that boasts indoor/outdoor runs for your dog. This means that no matter the weather, your dog can be comfortable. The runs have generous space for your dog to play and bask in the sun, then come inside if the weather is too hot, too cold, or too wet!
We are a full service boarding and training facility located on the Southwest edge of Lincoln, Nebraska. Wilderness Kennels was established in 1968 by Henry and Judy Sader and has been family owned and operated for more than 50 years. My dog was over 2 years old when I finally broke down and took her to Wilderness Kennels for training. I was afraid I'd waited too long, but Henry was amazing!
I was able to walk her on a leash within 3 days! Previously I couldn't even hold her on her leash! Tremendous progress. Thank you, Henry! After 6 weeks with Henry's expert guidance my dog is like a brand new dog.

At Wilderness Kennels we do so much more than just board your animals.
While we pride ourselves on the quality of care that we provide, we offer additional services for your convenience.
When you don't have the time to trim your pet's nails, or give them a bath and deal with the wet dog smell, we're here for you.
While our kennels provide ample amounts of space for your dog(s) to run and play, if you would like your dog(s) to receive extra exercise during their stay, we offer a playtime/walking service.

Wilderness Kennels offers obedience, hunting, and service dog training.
All training is catered specifically to your individual dog and their needs.
During training, your pup will stay at the kennels with us and after about 2 weeks, our trainer will have you come out to work with him and your pup.
The duration of training typically takes 6 to 8 weeks, but this time frame depends largely on the individual dog.
Our trainer will work with your pup on sit, stay, come when called, lay down, heel, basic manners, and any other specific problem behaviors they may have.
