Thornwood Veterinary Clinic was established September of 1972. The facility is located on 23 acres in Cascade Township, providing a true haven for many of our animal friends, both domestic and wild. We have several full and part-time veterinarians, supported by a qualified, dedicated, pet-loving staff. Thornwood provides a rich, pet focused environment with lots of fresh air and individual attention.
We are excited to offer our clients the service of purchasing their pet care products through our curated online store. This weekend Buttrick Avenue will be closed north of Grand River for the Grand Rapids Triathlon. The detour will be from Grand River, to Snow, to 28th Street, to Buttrick. At the request of the Van Otteren family, the League of Michigan Bicyclists is accepting donations in Marc's memory.

The mission of Thornwood Veterinary Clinic is to provide excellent and compassionate veterinary care to our patients while providing a personal, educational and affordable experience for their owners.
We take pride in the many veterinary services we have to offer.
Any patient who comes in for routine vaccinations will receive a full physical examination by the doctor.
This type of exam is recommended annually.
Remember, a dog ages 7 years biologically for every calendar year.
The health examination includes a check of general appearance, attitude, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth, throat, mucous membranes & capillary refill time (CRT), skin/coat, abdomen, heart, lungs, and the musculoskeletal system.
We take pride in the many veterinary services we have to offer.

Our pet groomer offers full service, all-breed dog grooming and also some cat grooming.
All dogs are groomed to AKC Standard (breed standard) and/or owner's specifications.
Daisy dogs, designer breeds, etc. are groomed accordingly to their owners wishes, along with the groomer's trained eye to help the owner decide which trim suits their dog's body style and coat texture.
Cats that need to be shaved are usually sedated (under a veterinarian's or veterinary technician's supervision) to avoid undue stress.

We are one of the few dog boarding facilities offering connected, individual indoor/outdoor runs allowing your pet much greater space and opportunity for exercise.
There are 58 kennel units available, constructed of wood and spacious enough to accommodate up to two large dogs in the same kennel should you be a multi-dog family.
The outdoor runs are concrete divided by chain-link fence.
We offer boarding at Thornwood Vet Clinic to both clients and non-clients.
