Unfortunately, I'm unable to accept new families at this time as I'm a one-woman show and intend to remain that way. Thank you so much for coming by though and all my best in finding someone wonderful to care for your family! On a recent trip to California, I debated taking our Siberian cat with us because I knew how much he'd miss us. We were driving there, would be visiting cities all over northern CA, I had someone staying at my house to care for him, and yet I seriously thought about it.
That's the truth. It's hard to leave our pets to go on trips; it's also hard to know what to do with them when we're gone. We want the best of all worlds, maximum happiness, and aren't sure how to get it. I totally understand. That said, all is not lost.
I LOVE what I do, am truly devoted to ensuring your pet is happy and secure, will care for them (and your home) as you'd expect any professional would, and keep you informed with pics/updates while you're away so you don't have to wait until your return to see that they're happy.

Services
Pet sitting is where I come into your home and try to make your pet forget you're not in it.
Each sit is 30 minutes and includes whatever it is you'd like, which we work out in advance; bringing in mail/newspapers, watering plants, rotating blinds/lights, etc. is all included, as is trying to ensure that your home looks nearly identical in cleanliness level when you return home as it did when you left.
I do require one visit per day for just felines and/or other critters (I don't do every other day visits) but recommend two per day for felines especially if they are very sociable, are in single kitty households, and you'll be gone for an extended time.

So you might be wondering how exactly a person with a bachelors in psychology and a masters in teaching ends up being a full-time pet sitter, and I would have no choice but to heartily answer: I have no idea.
Sweet Bridget (along with her new friend, Milo) moved to Pennsylvania but thankfully I took lots of pictures of her before that.
Sweet little baby girl had a tremor but then came out of it and gained weight and got to be so snuggly.

I'm not a stranger to pet sitting--I've done this work both as an employee and informally for friends and family for many years--but in 2005, my spouse decided that our German Shorthaired Pointer, Maddie, would be better suited staying at a boarding facility rather than at our home with a sitter.
She was a bit destructive and anxious even when we were home so it seemed the only real option for her when faced with many hours by herself.
By day three during her stay at the boarding facility, she'd stopped eating and by the time we'd done Disney World, had damaged her nose because during her stay, she'd obsessively poked it through the chain link gate of her kennel.

Exo--kicked in the mouth by a previous owner and permanently disfigured--is still the sweetest cat you'll ever meet.
Whether you rescue or not is a personal choice, but for most of my human patrons, there can be no doubt that--however their pets entered their life--they provide their "person" with a deep sense of well-being and contentedness and, as such, I consider my job that of nurturing the nurturer.
Because in one sense of another, they're actually ALL therapy animals, tending us--and helping heal us through stepping outside ourselves so as to nurture them--during all emotional and physical life states.

Amy is the perfect sitter for my dogs and fish when we are away.
My dogs adore her and I leave them in her hands with confidence, knowing she is dependable, thorough, and really cares about my pets.

I sleep better while I'm away from home knowing that Amy is taking care of my two cats.
She gives them exactly the care they need, from Lucy's insulin shots to Simon's need for aloofness.
I look forward to her updates and pictures each day.
I can't recommend her services enough!
