While other walking services can get the basic job done, what sets Melissa apart is her experience as a trainer. Finn, my young poodle mix, has been fear reactive since he was a pup, and through Melissa's training and walking sessions he has become a more confident and relaxed dog. I couldn't be more pleased! Our method of training: We use only certified methods and adhere to the LIMA approach.
We will never use rough handling, leash pops, physical manipulation, pinch, prong, choke or electric collars, or any other kind of pain/fear-inducing tool to force dogs into a learned helplessness state of compliance.
We want to show our pets how to succeed, and give them the opportunity to become active participants in our training relationships.
This includes competent management of their environment and selective reinforcement for desirable behaviors.
