Dr. Julia Leeseknew she wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of 9.
She had her own horse at the age of 11 and by 12 she was volunteering in her uncle's veterinary clinic in Tennessee called Mountain Empire Equine Services.
From there she became a member of a rodeo team and received the 4H National Horsemanship Awardin 1987.
