Services
Dr Martin moved to Mobile in 1991 (after meeting his wife Connie at the University of Alabama, (not that he would ever admit to attending ) to lay roots where they were blessed with three beautiful children.
After a short vet appt with his pet (oddly at Parkway AH) Dr. Martin knew his calling for veterinary medicine.
Of course being a auburn (war eagle) fan there was only one school for him.
Graduating in 2001 earning his dvm degree he went straight to work helping all the fur babies & their families.
Statistics point to an interesting trend in pet health care.
A recent study, commissioned by Bayer HealthCare LLC, Animal Health Division and conducted by Brakke Consulting in collaboration with the National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues, indicates that even though the population of pet owners has increased, the number of dogs and cats receiving veterinary care has sharply decreased.
The idea behind an annual checkup is simple: in order to prevent more costly future problems, your dog should visit your vet every year, even if he is healthy.
Looking for a new fur baby?
Check out some of the pet rescue groups we work with.
Adopting a new fur baby from one of these groups is a great way to share your life and reduce pet overpopulation.
Most of these organizations are funded by donations and are staffed by volunteers who share their love of pets by giving their time to work with these organizations.
Due to improved veterinary care and dietary habits, pets are living longer now than they ever have before.
One consequence of this is that pets, along with their owners and veterinarians, are faced with a whole new set of age-related conditions.
In recent years there has been extensive research on the problems facing older pets and how their owners and veterinarians can best handle their special needs.
A: It varies, but cats and small dogs are generally considered geriatric at the age of 7. Larger breed dogs tend to have shorter life spans and are considered geriatric when they are approximately 6 years of age.
As everyone knows Parkway works diligently to provide the up most care to our clients & their fur babies!
In addition to this, we also work with many of the local rescues at a reduced cost.
Visit our friends at Furry Friends of the Panhandle Rescue.
We are seeing families firmly devoted to their fur babies, having medical emergency situations in which they have no means for proper care to help their little ones.
We at Parkway donate in hospital / out patient care & medications to help these babies & their families.
