San Jose native and owner of While You Were Out, Kerry "Alex" Vierra, has over 15 years in the veterinary care industry. For many years she worked as a doctor's assistant, then as a surgical nurse, and most recently as a neurology nurse at the most respected specialty facilities in the Bay Area. This experience in both general and specialty practice gives her a unique and valuable skill set in caring for animals who require special medical attention and/or post operative care.
While You Were Out has been an idea since 2005, finally coming to fruition at the start of 2012 fueled by Alex's inclination for entrepreneurship and, most importantly, her passion for animals. While You Were Out offers a variety of services benefitting both pets and their people, including dog walks while you're away at work or on vacation, pet sitting, trail adventures alongside the Los Gatos Creek, doctor prescribed physical therapy session, and more.
With Alex's expertise, While You Were Out is able to identify situations that need medical attention, such as a pet in distress, administer complicated medications, and feels comfortable working with all breeds.
